Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

This page explains how Eco Home Future produces articles – who writes them, how they are reviewed, and what sources we cite.

Our editorial principles

  1. Practical over performative. Real-world action that fits real budgets.
  2. Source-cited. Every claim about subsidies, ratings, or savings links to an authoritative source.
  3. Honest about trade-offs. Every solution has costs. We name them.
  4. Updates. Subsidies and tariffs change with policy; articles are dated and revised when changes are material.
  5. Corrections. We correct errors openly with a visible note.

Sources we cite

  1. International research – IEA, IRENA, NREL, peer-reviewed sustainability journals
  2. Established Indian publications – Mercom India, EnergyWorld, Mint Climate, Down To Earth
  3. Manufacturer specifications – for appliance star ratings, panel data sheets, inverter specs
  4. Independent test sites – Wirecutter, Consumer Reports, RTINGS for appliance testing where international equivalents are sold in India
  5. Interviews with MNRE-empanelled solar installers, licensed electricians, sustainable building architects, and master gardeners

What we do NOT do

Reviewer process

Articles covering electrical systems, solar installation, gas appliances, or structural modifications are reviewed before publication by a contributor with relevant qualifications – typically a licensed electrician, an MNRE-empanelled installer, or a registered architect.

Affiliate disclosures

We use affiliate links to appliance comparisons, solar quote services, and sustainable product sellers. We never recommend a product solely because of an affiliate relationship.

Updates and corrections

Each article shows a publish date and an “Updated” date when material changes are made. After each Union Budget and major MNRE announcement, we revisit solar-related articles.
